Srinagar, August 15: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Independence Day called for making freedom meaningful for every Indian, saying independence is not merely about celebrating a day but about protecting the rights and dignity of citizens.
In a post on X, JKPDP wrote, “Independence is not merely the freedom to celebrate a day, it is the freedom to speak, to dissent, to dream and to live with dignity. On this Independence Day, let us reclaim the promise of our Constitution and make freedom meaningful for every Indian. Happy Independence Day.”
