Madhubani: A review meeting was held on Wednesday to discuss the formation of new urban local bodies and upgrade of existing municipal bodies in the district.The meeting was chaired by Sadar sub-divisional officer Chandan Kumar Jha. Deputy municipal commissioner of Madhubani Municipal Corporation, the town planner and block development officers of Rahika, Pandaul and Rajnagar attended the meeting.The meeting discussed the proposed areas of the urban local bodies and the inclusion of important institutions and villages. Officials presented area-wise details of the proposed municipal areas in the three blocks.Special attention was given to educational institutions, medical facilities and villages that had been left out of the earlier proposals. The SDO directed officials to review the proposals and ensure that all eligible areas and important institutions were included in accordance with the rules.He also directed officials to take necessary steps for the systematic formation and upgradation of urban local bodies, with due consideration to administrative and civic requirements.The meeting was aimed at expediting the process of reorganisation and expansion of urban local bodies in the district.
