Gurgaon: An FIR has been registered after a CM flying squad inspection found employees of a govt medical college in Nuh were allegedly shown as sports nursery coaches and paid from sports department funds, causing a loss of Rs 8.4 lakh to the state exchequer. The FIR alleges that district sports officer Manoj Sharma was involved in manipulating nursery allotments.Officers found that Mohammad Asfak, a helper at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Govt Medical College in Nalhar, was shown as a coach at a kabaddi nursery at DAV Public School. Another college employee, Sajid Khan, was shown as a nursery coach at Sounkh village.Records examined by the flying squad showed Asfak was paid a total of Rs 7,47,065 as both nursery coach and vehicle driver, and Khan Rs 90,000 as nursery coach salary. The FIR alleges that the two employees, along with coach Manoj Kumar, Sharma and deputy superintendent Rammehar, acted in connivance to manipulate allotments and draw govt money.According to the FIR, Asfak had been working as a helper under HKRN at the govt medical college since 2019, while Khan had been working there as a liftman under outsourcing/HKRN since 2015. Despite this, Asfak was allegedly shown as the coach of the kabaddi nursery at DAV Public School during 2024-25. The nursery was allotted in his name after Manoj Kumar, then-acting district sports officer coach, allegedly checked his documents and recommended his appointment. The FIR states that Asfak subsequently received Rs 20,000 per month from the sports department.Another kabaddi nursery at village Sounkh was allegedly allotted in Asfak’s name during 2025-26, and he served as its coach between April 11, 2025, and Nov 13, 2025. From Nov 14, 2025, to Jan 31, 2026, Khan was appointed Sounkh kabaddi nursery coach, and he drew a monthly salary of Rs 20,000 from the sports department. The flying squad also found that Rs 90,000 was deposited into Khan’s bank account on Nov 11, 2025. Investigators alleged that the arrangement resulted in govt funds being paid to employees who were already working elsewhere. The verification further flagged the use of two vehicles under sports department contracts, with Asfak allegedly also working as a driver. The FIR was registered at City Nuh police station on Oct 1 under BNS sections 316(5) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating) on a verification report submitted by inspector Deen Dayal of the CM Flying Squad, Rewari. Police said more sections would be added if additional evidence or the involvement of other persons emerged during the probe.
