Officials expect the first-quarter figures to rise further, as payments made on the last day of the rebate scheme are still being reconciled.MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya said, “Residents have availed the benefit of interest waiver and tax exemption scheme given by govt. Revenue received from property tax will be used to strengthen further roads, sewerage, drinking water, sanitation, street lights, development of parks, and other basic civic amenities in the city.”To manage the growing crowds in the final days, MCG made special arrangements across all offices. Separate counters were set up for women and senior citizens, and tax branch staff were directed to work without leave. According to Dahiya, property tax data corrections, ownership errors, and other complaints were also resolved on the spot, ensuring citizens did not face any inconvenience.
