Thiruvananthapuram: An MBBS student has been arrested for allegedly creating and circulating morphed images of fellow students at the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. The accused, identified as Abel, a native of Wayanad, was taken into custody by the police in connection with the case.Meanwhile, medical students have launched a protest, alleging that police failed to take prompt action on complaints filed by multiple victims. A group of students gathered at the police station, accusing officers of delaying the investigation and refusing to record their statements without justification.According to the protesting students, those who approached the police with complaints were made to wait for several hours before any action was initiated. They also expressed dissatisfaction after the accused was granted bail when produced before the court.At present, eight students have come forward with complaints, demanding that separate cases be registered based on each victim’s allegation. However, police have maintained that multiple FIRs cannot be registered as the allegations pertain to the same offence and that the matter would be investigated under a single case.Medical students continued to stage a sit-in outside the police station, insisting on a comprehensive investigation and appropriate legal action on all complaints.
