Bicholim: The Bicholim police on Monday arrested Sanjay Mainkar, 44, for allegedly attempting to murder his younger brother Sagar, 38, over a previous enmity at their house at Haldankarwadi in Mayem on Sunday night.Police said Swara, Sagar’s wife, told them that a quarrel began between the brothers after Sagar did not open the door of family house when Sanjay arrived between 9.30pm and 11.10pm. Sanjay is a taxi driver.When Sagar finally opened door, Sanjay, allegedly in a fit of rage, stabbed him with a knife. Other members of the family took the profusely bleeding Sagar to the GMC. The police said Sagar’s condition continues to be critical.Further investigation is under way by PSI Aakash Parwar, under the guidance of PI Vijay Rane Sardesai, SDPO Shridevi, and North Goa SP Harish Madkaikar.
