Udupi: Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara, who visited Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple and offered puja Sunday, said the govt plans to prepare a master plan for the temple’s comprehensive development.He told reporters that the focus will be on improving infrastructure to accommodate the large number of devotees arriving. A final decision will be taken after discussions with the temple committee and officials.The minister said the plan will ensure that devotees from across the country and abroad do not face a shortage of basic facilities, including darshan, parking and accommodation. “We plan to implement this soon,” he said.He added that instructions have been issued to the Commissioner to take appropriate action to clear all encroached temple lands under the muzrai department. Deputy commissioners of the respective districts have also been instructed accordingly. Further action will be decided after receiving information on the measures taken, he said.Earlier, the minister, along with his wife Kannika Parameshwari, offered Chandika Homa, had darshan of the deity, and offered prayers through the temple priests. Rituals, including the ‘Chandika Homa’, were conducted under the leadership of senior priests N Narasimha Adiga and Subrahmanya Adiga.After the puja, the temple’s administrative committee honoured Parameshwara with the Goddess’s prasadam and a memento.Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, DC Swaroopa TK, and others were present.Parameshwara also paid surprise visits to key areas of the temple, including the storehouse, dining hall and the Lalitambika guesthouse, and inspected the arrangements. Noting advancements in technology, he suggested implementing a computerised documentation system.
