Hyderabad: Reacting on the CM Revanth Reddy’s remarks at Nalgonda public meeting on Sunday, former minister T Harish Rao asked CM Revanth Reddy to face the people directly in the elections by dissolving the assembly if he is confident about the public support. He said the CM was trying to divert the public attention by resorting to personal accusations from his govt’s failures.Speaking at the BRS booth level agents meeting in Siddipet on Sunday evening, Harish Rao questioned why the CM chose to attack him personally instead of answering concerns over Telangana’s rightful share in the Krishna and Godavari river waters following the recent meeting with the CMs of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. He said it was unfortunate that a CM was making derogatory remarks about the physical appearance of opposition leaders rather than focusing on governance. “Whether I am tall or short is irrelevant. What matters is our commitment to serving the people and delivering development. It is your mindset that is small, not our stature,” he said.Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy was unable to fulfil the Congress party’s major electoral promises, including ₹2,500 monthly assistance to women, scooters for women, one tola of gold, ₹4,000 pensions, two lakh government jobs and ₹15,000 Rythu Bharosa, and was therefore attempting to divert public attention by repeatedly targeting the BRS and its leadership. He said the Revanth Reddy’s repeated attacks on BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao and himself reflected growing political insecurity. “If you truly believe your govt enjoys public confidence and will remain in power until 2028 or even 2034, dissolve the assembly today. We are prepared to ask our MLAs to resign. Let the people decide who deserves to govern Telangana,” Harish Rao challenged.Rejecting the CM’s claim that the BRS had become politically irrelevant, the BRS leader said the Congress itself had failed to secure the status of the principal opposition at the national level despite being in power in several states. He asserted that the people would soon deliver their verdict against what he described as the Congress govt’s arrogance and broken promises.Referring to the SLBC tunnel project, Harish Rao said the BRS govt had advanced excavation by nearly 12 kilometres after inheriting delays, while alleging that the present government had failed to make meaningful progress and that eight workers had lost their lives during its tenure. He reiterated allegations regarding Singareni Collieries tenders and challenged the CM to hold a discussion in the assembly on the issue, stating that he was prepared to substantiate his claims with evidence.Recalling the Telangana statehood movement, Harish Rao said BRS leaders had resigned from public office, faced imprisonment and hundreds of criminal cases for the cause of Telangana. He accused Revanth Reddy of having no moral authority to question the sacrifices made during the movement.Ends/
