Hyderabad: In two separate incidents that took place within minutes of each other, massive fires broke out in industrial and residential pockets on the city’s outskirts, triggering panic.The first incident was reported from Ram Reddy Nagar in the Jeedimetla Industrial Area, where a major blaze erupted in a warehouse storing solvent drums. Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the sky, visible from several kilometres, as flames rapidly intensified due to the highly flammable nature of the stored materials.Fire and emergency personnel rushed to the spot and launched extensive firefighting operations. Officials described the situation as critical, citing the risk of explosions and rapid spread to adjoining units. After several hours of effort, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control.According to Jeedimetla fire officer V Shekar Reddy, the fire engulfed multiple adjacent structures, including two solvent godowns, one fabrication unit and a scrap warehouse. All the affected units were located side by side and were completely gutted. Preliminary findings indicate that the godowns were operating without necessary permissions, and no personnel were present at the time of the incident. Authorities said the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and an assessment of property loss is yet to be made.In a separate incident, another fire broke out in the Bahadurpally area after flames erupted in a warehouse storing decoration materials belonging to an events company. The fire quickly spread to a nearby house, creating panic among local residents.Fire services responded promptly and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread further to surrounding structures. Officials said the swift action helped avert a larger disaster in the densely populated area.Prima facie, authorities suspect that the fire may have been triggered by snapped high-tension electrical wires near the warehouse. Property damage in this incident is estimated at around Rs 20 lakh.No casualties have been reported in either incident so far. Officials have launched detailed investigations to ascertain the exact causes and to examine possible violations of safety regulations.
