Mapusa: Mapusa police have registered an offence against a local resident, Babit Fernandes, for allegedly posting and circulating vulgar and derogatory content targeting Hindu deities on social media.The action follows a complaint registered on Thursday by Nisha Vernekar, representing the NGO Goenchi Nari Shakti, who alleged that the posts were a deliberate attempt to outrage religious feelings and incite communal hatred.According to police, the incident reportedly took place on April 22 at Mapusa. The complaint states that Fernandes allegedly shared the offensive material across various platforms, causing significant distress among members of the Hindu community.
