Vadodara: The counting of votes for the Manjalpur assembly bypoll will begin at 8am on Monday at Bhavan’s School, with authorities making elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth, transparent and peaceful process.Votes cast at 260 polling stations will be counted across 19 rounds on 15 counting tables, including 14 for electronic voting machines (EVMs) and one for postal ballots. Counting of postal ballots will begin first, followed by the counting of EVM votes.Under the supervision of district election officer and collector Anil Dhameliya, 42 counting personnel and 42 micro-observers have been deployed for the exercise. Around 200 additional election staff members will assist in various aspects of the counting process.The exercise will be monitored by the Election Commission-appointed general observer, police observer and expenditure observer.A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place at the counting centre, with more than 200 police personnel deployed to maintain law and order throughout the counting process.
