Nagpur: A 42-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife in the neck with a knife in Hudkeshwar area on Friday evening, leaving her seriously injured.Police identified the accused as Anand Goglia, who allegedly forced his way into the house of Kunda Bhopale near Gajanan Mandir in Shriram Nagar around 6pm, where his wife, Babli Goglia (40), was present. A habitual drinker, he allegedly attacked her before fleeing on a two-wheeler after neighbours rushed to her aid on hearing her screams.Babli, a sewing worker, was taken to Govt Medical College and Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.The couple, originally from Kamptee, had been living separately following marital discord. On June 15, Babli had lodged a complaint against her husband at Old Kamptee police station, alleging that he assaulted her at her mother’s residence.Hudkeshwar police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including attempt to murder. The accused remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.
