Berhampur: A 36-year-old man allegedly cut off his tongue with a knife at Maa Kali temple in Hansatuli, Ganjam district, early on Sunday.The victim was identified as Kiran Patra, a father of two and resident of Hansatuli. He was working as a labourer and had returned to the village recently. Police suspect he may have severed his tongue due to family dispute.Locals who visited the temple in the morning, found him lying in a pool of blood near the temple gate. They informed his family members and the local police. He was taken to MKCG Medical College and Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.“Before we reached the spot, his family members had shifted him to the hospital,” said Bhagaban Pujari, IIC, Beguniapada police station.
