Jhansi: A 26-year-old man was critically injured after being shot at from close range and later attacked with swords by several assailants on Monday night in Jalaun district.The incident took place near Ajnari bypass under the Mandi outpost of the Kotwali police station area in Orai.According to police, the victim, Mohit Yadav, was returning from work when he was allegedly surrounded by several people.CCTV footage of the incident reportedly shows the victim being shot at from close range and later attacked with swords by the assailants before they fled the spot.Police reached the scene after receiving information and rushed the victim to a district hospital, from where he was referred to Jhansi Medical College in a critical condition.An FIR was subsequently registered against four identified individuals and a few unknown persons under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The identified accused have been named as Ramjee Soni, Shyamjee Soni, Nishu Thakur and Ajay Singh.Additional SP (Jalaun) Ishan Soni said three police teams had been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
