Vadodara: A 22-year-old man, Ranjit Chaudhary, shot himself in the chest with a revolver near a canal in Savli taluka late on Thursday night. Chaudhary was admitted to the hospital for treatment after falling unconscious and is in a stable condition. The police said that they will question him once he recovers from the injury.According to the police, the incident occurred near Manjusar village when Chaudhary was alone. “His family members said that he was having differences with his wife over the last few months. They were also staying in separate houses. Initial investigation revealed that he may have shot himself due to the stress in their marriage,” said Manjusar police station sub-inspector P M Mandali.Chaudhary left a note in which he wrote about his marital life problems in poetic language. “We will be able to ascertain the exact cause behind his action only after Chaudhary gives a statement,” Mandali told TOI. A native of Uttar Pradesh, Chaudhary had been staying in Savli for the last few months. He used to work as a casual labourer.When asked about how he got a revolver, police officials said his family members had no idea that he had a firearm.
