Aurangabad: A 20-year-old man allegedly murdered his two minor nephews and niece before attempting to take his own life in Khutahan village under the Haspura police station area on Friday morning.According to police, the accused, Amant Pal, entered the house of his elder brother Guddu Pal around 10am. At the time of the incident, Guddu had gone out for work, while his wife had stepped out to a nearby temple for Ram Navami puja, leaving their three children at home.Seizing the opportunity, the accused allegedly locked the house from inside and used a sharp-edged weapon to slit the throats of the three children — Anish Kumar (10), Ayush Kumar (7) and Anushka (5). All three died on the spot.After committing the crime, Amant allegedly attempted suicide by slitting his own throat, leaving himself critically injured.The incident came to light when the children’s mother returned from the temple and found the door locked from inside. With the help of villagers, the door was broken open, revealing the gruesome scene — three lifeless bodies and the accused lying in a pool of blood.Superintendent of police Ambrish Rahul said the accused was immediately taken into custody and rushed to a local hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was later referred to Patna for better treatment.“Preliminary investigation suggests that a domestic dispute may have triggered the brutal act. A case has been registered based on the statement of the children’s mother. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and the weapon used in the crime has been recovered from the scene,” police said, adding further investigation was underway to ascertain the exact motive behind the killings.
