Noida: A man was detained on Monday in connection with his brother’s murder the night before. Bhole Shankar was found with his throat slit in a field in Neemka village late on Sunday night. Shankar had been sleeping when he was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon, police said.Locals found his body soon after the attack and informed police, who reached the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Results are awaited. Forensic and field teams were also called to the scene and collected evidence that could help establish the sequence of events and identify the circumstances surrounding the killing, police said.Cops checked CCTV footage from cameras installed in the vicinity and questioned people familiar with the victim and his family. The investigation led cops to the victim’s brother, who was detained on Monday as a suspect in the case. No official arrest has been made so far.Police said a motive has not been established yet. Investigators are also examining the circumstances that led to the alleged attack and whether there was any previous dispute between the brothers. The accused would be questioned in detail and further legal action would be taken on the basis of the evidence, they added.The post-mortem examination report is also expected to provide further details about the nature and timing of the injuries, police said, adding that they are examining all aspects of the case.
