T’puram: A 30-year-old man was killed after a container truck ran over his head after a car knocked him off his two-wheeler at Kilimanoor on Friday. The deceased was Sreeju, of Chengikkunnu.The accident occurred on the Puthiyakav-Pothuchantha road. According to police, Sreeju was riding his two-wheeler when a car parked by the roadside suddenly reversed and hit the two-wheeler, throwing Sreeju onto the road.The container truck, travelling in the opposite direction, ran over Sreeju’s head moments later. He died on the spot.Police said the car stopped briefly after the accident but later left the scene without waiting for authorities. The driver is yet to be identified.Kilimanoor police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the car. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the vehicle and establish the sequence of events.Police are also collecting details about the container truck.Sreeju’s body was shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem. Police said further action would be taken after identifying the car and its driver.
