Ranchi: A 40-year-old man, identified as Sayyub, on Monday died by suicide at the Dhurwa dam in Ranchi, a day after he was saved by local boatmen at the same site. Police said that the man ended his life early on Monday morning and his body was spotted under water on the banks of the dam later on. Nagri police station in-charge Praveen Kumar said that the deceased was a native of Panki block in Palamu district and worked as a daily worker in the city. Kumar said, “While information from the victim’s relative was awaited, prima facie it seems that family dispute may have been the trigger. Police would register a case of unnatural death in this connection. On Sunday, the people operating boats at Dhurwa dam had saved Sayyub.”
