T’puram: Poonthura police on Thursday arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly possessing MDMA intended for sale. The accused was identified as Laila Khan of Thiruvallom.Police said they recovered 0.8g of MDMA from the accused during the operation. The contraband was allegedly concealed in his pocket when he was intercepted by police.The arrest was made following a tip-off received by police regarding the movement of a person carrying synthetic drugs for sale in the area. Acting on the information, a police team led by SI Sreejesh conducted a search and apprehended the suspect.The police registered a case under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.The accused was produced before a local court after his arrest and was remanded in judicial custody.
