A man, Hemant Verma (43), was taken into police custody on Thursday for allegedly killing his wife Sweeta (40) in Chamanganj area under Jhunsi police station. SO (Jhunsi) Mahesh Mishra told TOI that, “Hemant was married to Sweeta about five years back and the couple had a daughter.” The couple used to have frequent fights over petty issues. On Wednesday night, Hemant allegedly attacked his wife with an electric iron leaving her critically injured. She later succumbed.” The body has been sent for postmortem.
