Chandrapur: District and sessions court here has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his 60-year-old wife after suspecting her character. Additional district and sessions judge Prakash Kadam convicted Dhanpal Madhav Ramteke (60), a resident of Kudesaoli in Gondpipri taluka, for the brutal killing of his wife Vandana, on Sept 12, 2024.According to the prosecution, Ramteke fatally stabbed his 60-year-old wife at their home between 8am and 8.30 am. The crime came to light after their son, Amar, lodged a complaint at Kothari police station.The court relied on strong evidence, including eyewitness accounts, medical findings and forensic reports presented by public prosecutor Asif Sheikh, to establish guilt beyond doubt. Investigation was led by PSI Yogesh Kharsan of Kothari police station.
