Kendrapada: Additional district and sessions judge of Chandikhol in Jajpur district sentenced a 57-year-old Dinabandhu Sahoo of Nayapatana village under Bairi police station limits to rigorous life imprisonment on Saturday for killing a 50-year-old Satyabhama Sahoo, a neighbour, six years back in connection with a land dispute. The court fined the convict of Rs 10,000 for the offence, and failure to pay it would result in his sentence being increased by six months.Judge Gopabandhu Gadanayak sentenced Dinabandhu Sahoo to life imprisonment under section 302 (Murder) of IPC for killing Satyabhama on Jan 28, 2020, with a sharp weapon. The court declared a life sentence for Dinabandhu, finding him guilty after examining 18 witnesses and four material objects and documents, said Nalinikanta Mishra, public prosecutor of the court.
