Vadodara: A 51-year-old man from Baranpura was found dead in the Narmada Canal in Halol on Saturday evening.The deceased, identified as Sanjay Khandekar, had gone missing earlier in the day. Police said he had called his family members in the afternoon, informing them that he would return home for lunch, but failed to do so.His body was later spotted by locals in the canal, following which the fire brigade was alerted. Fire personnel retrieved the body, and an identity card found in his trouser pocket helped confirm his identity.Police suspect it to be a case of suicide, though investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to his death.
