Salem: A man was electrocuted while changing the fuse on a transformer near Sankari in Salem district on Tuesday.The deceased has been identified as M Sivashankar, 36, of Alathur Keelkarattupalayam. He was working as a manager at a truck office in Sankari.The incident took place around 8.30am when he climbed atop a transformer to change the fuse, said T Sakthivel, SI, Thevoor police station.Locals who witnessed it alerted Sivashankar’s brother Chandramohan, 32, of Kumarapalayam, and the fire and rescue services personnel.After fire personnel retrieved the body from the transformer, police sent it to the government hospital in Sankari for a postmortem.A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
