Hassan: A 41-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after claiming he had murdered his 38-year-old wife. However, as the woman remains missing, police have launched a search operation.Raghu’s body was found in Kesagodu village of Belur taluk on Friday.According to police, Raghu had earlier taken his wife, Gagana, in his car to Kesagodu village. He reportedly made a video call to his relatives, claiming that he had killed her and would dump her body in the Yagachi canal. After the call, he allegedly died by suicide at the same location.The couple, who had been married for 13 years, have two sons aged 12 and 6. They were running a bakery in Chikkamagaluru and lived there with their family.As Gagana is missing, a missing-person complaint has been registered at Basavanahalli police station in Chikkamagaluru, said Hassan SP Shubhanwitha.Hassan police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation. A search operation is underway in and around the Yagachi canal to trace the missing woman. Police said they are investigating the motive behind the incident.
