Kanpur: A 28-year-old man died after falling from the fifth floor of Sukhdham Apartment in the Bithoor police station area of Kanpur late Sunday night, police said. The body was sent for postmortem.Police said they received information at around 11:30pm on Sunday that a man had fallen from Tower No. 2 of Sukhdham Apartment in Singhpur under the Bithoor police station area. According to eyewitnesses, after he fell, some people from the apartment immediately took him to Paras Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. Family members and locals then brought the body back to the apartment.Police said they conducted an on-spot inquiry and sent it for postmortem. The police investigation found that the man lived in the apartment with his mother and that his father passed away during the Corona period.Police said Ayush earned his living by teaching music. Residents told police that he was calm by nature and did not socialise much with people.Police said they informed the deceased’s other relatives and family members about the incident. Police said they were investigating the matter while keeping all aspects in mind, and that the clear cause of death would be known only after the postmortem report was received.Bithoor Station In-charge Ashok Kumar Saroj said so far no allegation or written complaint has been received from the deceased’s family members; if any complaint is received, an investigation will be conducted and necessary action will be taken.
