As Iran and Israel exchanged strikes on June 8, new reports suggested growing friction between U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the handling of the conflict. Trump urged both sides to “stop shooting immediately” and insisted that peace talks were continuing despite ongoing attacks. Videos showing U.S. aircraft, including KC-135 refuelling tankers, at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport fueled debate over American involvement and force protection. Meanwhile, Iran claimed strikes on Israeli targets, the Houthis threatened Red Sea shipping, and Washington reportedly refrained from direct military participation in the latest escalation.
