Times News NetworkChandigarh: A man was allegedly stabbed twice after he intervened to stop a fight between two youths near a liquor vend in Sector 41 late on Aug 17, police said. Sector 39 police recorded the victim’s statement and registered a case. No arrest has been made so far.The victim, Brijesh, lives with his family in rented accommodation in Buterla village and works at a cloth shop in Jhampur. He said he reached Sector 41 from his workplace around midnight and saw two youths quarrelling in the parking area near the liquor vend. He intervened, following which the two youths left.However, one of them allegedly returned on a motorcycle and confronted Brijesh, saying he would “teach him a lesson” for intervening in the dispute. The complainant alleged that the youth parked his motorcycle, took a sharp object out of a bag and attacked him twice.Brijesh sustained injuries on the right side of his chest and below his left arm. He fell to the ground and raised an alarm, following which the accused fled on his motorcycle.The victim said he noted down the registration number of the black motorcycle — PB71A 9265. He also told police that the attacker was wearing a turban.Brijesh called the police and reached Govt Medical College and Hospital, Sector 16, with the help of passersby.
