Varanasi: A 44-year-old man allegedly killed his 70-year-old mother and 45-year-old sister with an axe over a dispute related to the distribution of his father’s pension, deposits and property in Jaunpur’s Saidupur village under Nevadhiya police station on Friday afternoon.Police identified the accused as Bhupendra Patel. Jaunpur ASP (Rural) Aatish Kumar Singh said both women were rushed to hospital, where doctors declared them dead. After sending the bodies for postmortem, police arrested Patel and recovered the axe allegedly used in the attack.During the initial investigation, police found that Patel’s mother was willing to give his father’s pension amount, deposits and property to his daughter, who had been staying at their house for many years in the name of caring for her mother. Due to this, Patel had quarrelled with his sister on several occasions. It is suspected that he murdered both women in connection with the dispute, Singh said.
