Nagpur: Three men allegedly abused and assaulted a 35-year-old man after a dispute over a parked car at Ram Nagar Chowk late Sunday night. The incident is the latest in a series of road rage cases reported in the city over the past few days, mostly linked to parked vehicles.One of the accused, Prince Bhanuse, has a previous offence registered against him at Tehsil police station.The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near a grocery shop on a road in the Ambazari police station area.The complainant, Rahul Kanojia, was travelling with his wife in their car from Telankhedi towards Gokulpeth after visiting relatives, police said. Two of Kanojia’s relatives from Indore were also in the car. A parked four-wheeler allegedly blocked their way. After Kanojia reportedly honked to clear the path, three men, including Bhanuse, allegedly got out of the parked vehicle and began abusing him.When Kanojia questioned them, one of the accused allegedly struck him on the head with an iron rod. Kanojia sustained injuries and was taken to a private hospital in Ravi Nagar for treatment.Ambazari police registered a case against three persons under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to causing hurt, criminal intimidation, intentional insult and acts committed by multiple persons with a common intention.Three similar incidents were reported on Sept 20. A man was assaulted with a rod in Pachpaoli limits at Siddharth Nagar–Teka over a parking dispute, while a youth was hit on the head after a minor collision near Tilak Putla in the Ganeshpeth police station limits. In Gittikhadan, a man who objected to a two-wheeler parked in the middle of the road was struck with a brick.On Oct 1, a scooter parked in front of a house in Taj Nagar Gali, Mankapur, triggered an assault involving a baton and a brick.Days later, a retired man was beaten with a stick and a stone near a club in Dhantoli after he honked to alert two men walking in the middle of the road.
