Mangaluru: Vittal police arrested a 53-year-old man for allegedly sexually harassing and threatening a minor boy. According to the complaint, the minor was travelling by bus from Alike towards Puttur on Aug 15. When the bus arrived at the private bus stand in Vittal, an unidentified man allegedly sat beside the boy and behaved inappropriately with him.The complaint further states that the man later went to the boy’s house, allegedly sexually harassed him and threatened him. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Section 4(2) of the Pocso Act, and Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.During the investigation, police identified the accused as Umesh, a resident of Kondagayi. The suspect was arrested and produced before a court. He was subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
