Ara: A woman with learning difficulties was allegedly raped and murdered in Bhojpur, with her half-naked body found along the Ara-Sasaram main road near Bagwa village under Agiaon (Garhani) police station area on Monday, police said. A person was arrested for the committing the crime, police added.Ara Sadar SDPO in charge and DSP, Ara Cyber police station, Raushan Kumar said police were informed around 9.30am that the body was lying about 200 metres from Bagwa village bazaar. A police team, along with the FSL team, reached the spot and began an investigation.“The woman’s body was found in a half-naked condition and prima facie it appeared to be a case of rape and murder. CCTV footage showed that around 10pm on Sunday, the woman was being physically assaulted by a man,” Kumar said.He said locals identified the man in the footage as Ram Dular Ram alias Prabhash, a resident of Bagwa village. According to villagers, the woman had been living at a sweet shop in the area for the past three to four months. They said she had mental health issues and her identity and address were not known.Police surrounded the accused’s house and arrested him from his village, Kumar said. He added that Ram Dular Ram had confessed to committing the rape and murder during questioning. The accused was subsequently sent for production before a court, police said.A case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Agiaon (Garhani) police station, police said.
