Mangaluru: Police arrested a man wanted in a case registered at the Mangaluru South police station after he allegedly remained untraceable for almost a decade. According to police, a case had been registered against him at the Mangaluru South police station for offences punishable under sections 143, 147, 341, 353, 504 and 506, read with Section 149 of the IPC. Mangaluru South police station personnel have arrested Noufal and produced him before the court, police said.Warrant accused absconding for nine years arrestedPunjalakatte police arrested a warrant accused who allegedly absconded for nearly nine years in connection with a 2016 case. Shabeer, a resident of Mudigere in Chikkamagaluru district, was wanted in connection with a case registered at the Punjalakatte police station under Section 379 of IPC and sections 42 and 44 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act.A team comprising head constable Rajesh and constables Cholappa and Nagaraj arrested him in Chikkamagaluru. He was produced before the court Saturday, following which the court remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
