Mysuru: Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara on Saturday hit back at Union minister H.D. Kumaraswamy over his allegation that minister Priyank Kharge had taken charge of home department to cover up a scam.Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, Parameshwara said making allegations against everyone and everything had become a routine for Kumaraswamy and challenged him to produce documents to substantiate his allegations.“Making allegations against everyone and about everything is Kumaraswamy’s job. If he has documents to support his allegations, let him produce them. He can do whatever he wants within the legal framework. The law is equal for everyone in the country. It is the same for me, Kumaraswamy and Priyank Kharge,” he said.On drought relief for farmers, Parameshwara said state govt had declared 101 taluks as drought-hit and had already appealed to Centre for financial assistance. “Our priority is drinking water for people and cattle. Last time, we had to approach the court and fight for drought relief, following which Rs 3,500 crore was released,” he added.On former minister B Nagendra’s resignation, the minister accused BJP of politicising the issue. “The BJP has politicised this issue. Nagendra is a disciplined soldier of the party. He resigned because he did not want to cause embarrassment to the party,” he said.“There is no evidence that Nagendra received the money. When I was Home Minister, most of the ₹79 crore had already been recovered. The process of recovering another ₹5 crore is underway. Nagendra’s name does not figure anywhere in this,” he said.Siddaramaiah is getting some rest: ParameshwaraOn former chief minister Siddaramaiah maintaining silence in state politics, Parameshwara said there was nothing unusual about it. “Siddaramaiah had attended the assembly. He is now getting some rest for two months. After that, he too will get back in action,” he said.
