Patna: Students and youths should unite to raise their voices on issues of education, employment, democracy and social justice, speakers at a meeting organised by the All India Students’ Association (AISA) and Revolutionary Youth Association (RYA) said on Sunday.CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya and AISA national president Neha Bora were the key speakers at the meeting, which was themed ‘Gen-Z rising’. Students and youths who had participated in recent protests at Jantar Mantar and in Bihar and Jharkhand against alleged irregularities and paper leaks in examinations also spoke about issues confronting the younger generation.Bora called upon students, youths and people of Bihar to unite for educational reforms, employment, democracy and social justice. “Time has come for the students and youths of Bihar to launch and build a strong movement against repression, injustice and corruption,” she said, urging them to question the govt on these issues.Bhattacharya called for making the ‘School Theek Karo’ campaign a broad-based movement focused on improving school education and infrastructure in the state. He also advocated ‘one nation, one education’ and urged students and youths to demand a common school system.“The Bihar govt has been upgrading schools, but no tangible reforms have been made at the ground level in the upgraded schools,” he said, adding that education should be a concern for society as a whole, not just students and youths.
