Kanpur: A major fire broke out at an incense stick manufacturing factory in Tatyaganj area under Chaubepur police station on Sunday night.. However, no casualties were reported as workers managed to escape in time.The factory, operated under the name Green Energy by Shailendra Pal, a resident of Baradevi, was engaged in preparing raw materials for incense sticks. According to workers, machines were operational and work was underway when the fire suddenly erupted and spread rapidly across the premises.Sensing danger, workers rushed out of the factory and saved their lives. With the help of local villagers, initial efforts were made to control the flames using submersible pumps from nearby areas, but the fire could not be contained.Fire brigade teams were later alerted and rushed to the spot. Chief Fire Officer Deepak Sharma said that four firefighting units were deployed under his supervision, and after sustained efforts, the blaze was brought under control.He added that although no loss of life occurred in the incident, the fire caused substantial damage to the factory. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
