Kolkata: Tension was palpable on Monday at the Alipore court complex as the re-polling for the bar council election was held and the repolling will continue on Tuesday too. Several senior Trinamool leaders including Ashok Deb, Baiswanor Chatterjee and Subhashis Chakraborty are seeking re-election to the bar council.The Supreme Court’s high powered committee comprising Bengal’s former Lokayukta Justice Ashim Kumar Roy, ex-chief justice of Manipur High Court Justice D Krishnakumar and Bengal advocate general Kishore Dutta on Monday afternoon came down to the Alipore bar where the re-polling was held. Justice Roy said that in the bar council poll, there are over 72000 voters in Bengal. He said that as there were complaints of ballots being spotted outside the booth so repolling was ordered. TNN
