KALYAN: In the elections held on Sunday for the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Mahayuti gained undisputed dominance and won 16 out of 18 seats. The voters showed their faith in the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee by giving Mahayuti one-handed power.One of the 18 elected seats will be selected as the chairman, and the official programme in this regard will be announced soon, election officials said.The results of the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee election were announced late on Sunday night. Voters responded enthusiastically to the voting process held in the election. There was a large crowd to vote from 7 am on Sunday.There was a spontaneous response to voting until 5 pm, and 90.37% of the total voting was recorded. In the election, as many as 2,131 voters out of 2,358 exercised their right to vote, with significant participation from women.Voting was held for a total of 17 out of 18 seats in the Kalyan Agricultural Produce Market Committee, and one candidate was elected unopposed. A total of 155 candidates filed their nomination papers in the election. Out of these, 15 applications were rejected, and 51 candidates actually tried their luck in the election fray.The winning candidates in this election are Ravindra Ghodvinde, Kapil Thale, Bharat Gondhale, Yogesh Dhumal, Arun Patil, Jalindar Patil, Manohar Patil, Vidya Patil, Sharda Patil, Vasant Lone, Ravindra Awhad, Naresh Suroshi, Ravindra Bhoir, Kishor Wadekar, Vijay Suroshi, Kashinath Narwade, and Girish Patil.Returning Officer Vishal Jadhwar informed that Shankar Awhad from Hamal and Tolai groups was elected unopposed.BJP MLA Kishan Kathore said to be played important role into win Mahayuti candidates while NCP (SP) MP Suresh Mhatre alias Balya Mama who campaign for Mahavikas Aaghadi candidates failed to get win it’s members.
