The Madhya Pradesh government will transfer Rs 502 crore in fee reimbursement for the 2024-25 academic year to 20,456 private schools across the state under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav will attend a special programme in Narsinghpur district as the chief guest, where the amount will be transferred through a single-click transaction according to media reports.
The payment is expected to benefit more than 8.19 lakh students from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections who are enrolled in private schools under the RTE provision. The reimbursement is intended to support the implementation of free education for eligible children and compensate private schools for the fees covered under the scheme.
Over Rs 3,600 crore released under RTE since 2011
According to the information shared by the state government, more than Rs 3,600 crore has been released as fee reimbursement for over 16.85 lakh students since 2011.
Under the RTE Act, eligible children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections can receive free admission to private schools from Class 1 to Class 8. The government reimburses the applicable fees directly to the concerned private schools.
The scheme aims to improve access to education for children who may otherwise face financial barriers to studying in private institutions. The latest transfer is part of the state’s efforts to ensure that eligible students continue to receive educational support.
CM to inaugurate Sandipani school building in Narsinghpur
During the programme, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will also inaugurate the new building of Government Sandipani Utkrisht Vidyalaya in Narsinghpur. The school building has been constructed at a cost of more than Rs 45 crore.
The institution has been developed to provide a modern learning environment for students from KG-1 to Class 12. The campus is equipped with digital classrooms, computer laboratories, science laboratories, a library, a multipurpose hall and an auditorium.
The school also has playground facilities to encourage sports and physical activities. Transportation facilities have been provided to support students’ safe and convenient travel.
Sandipani schools focus on modern education facilities
The Sandipani Vidyalaya Yojana is a state government initiative aimed at improving the quality of school education by providing modern infrastructure and learning facilities.
The schools are designed to support students’ academic progress and overall development through technology-enabled classrooms, laboratory-based learning and extracurricular activities.
The Narsinghpur school has also recorded an academic achievement. According to the information shared by the government, Mahi Sahu, a student of the institution, secured a place on the Class 12 merit list in the 2025-26 academic year.
School education minister and other dignitaries to attend
School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, local public representatives and other dignitaries are expected to attend the programme. Students and parents will also be present.
The event will bring together two major education-related initiatives: the transfer of RTE fee reimbursement to private schools and the inauguration of a modern school building. Through the reimbursement scheme, the state government aims to support eligible students from disadvantaged backgrounds, while the Sandipani school initiative seeks to provide access to improved educational infrastructure and facilities.
