Bargarh: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati inaugurated a STEM laboratory and aeromodeling training centre at The Kosala School in Bargarh district under the Boeing Sukanya Program.
The facility will offer practical learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), with activities covering robotics, electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), aerospace and model aircraft construction. More than 2,000 students across the state are expected to benefit annually.
The centre also includes an AI laboratory set up by Ananda Cityzen, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) wing of Fluentgrid Ltd. The facilities will be accessible to students of The Kosala School and neighbouring schools, according to the organisations involved.
During the inauguration, Kambhampati interacted with students and viewed their projects, prototypes and aeromodeling demonstrations.
The Governor said the facility would help expand access to STEM education and encourage students to develop scientific thinking and explore careers in technology.
Salil Gupte, President, Boeing India and South Asia, said the facilities would introduce students in Bargarh to aviation and STEM-related learning and career opportunities.
Murali Krishna Gannamani, CEO and Managing Director of Fluentgrid Ltd. and Chairman of The Kosala School, said the collaboration would provide students with practical learning opportunities beyond classroom instruction.
The STEM laboratory will support activities in robotics, physical computing, electronics, AI, rapid prototyping and aerospace. The aeromodeling centre will focus on aerodynamics, aircraft design, flight and model aircraft construction.
The Boeing Sukanya Program is implemented in partnership with Learning Links Foundation, a nonprofit organisation working on education and skilling initiatives. The programme aims to increase women’s participation in aviation through STEM
