Ludhiana: In a bid to tackle ongoing LPG supply constraints affecting households, migrant workers, and industrial units, the district administration has launched a comprehensive relief drive. Authorities claimed that to ensure timely grievance redressal and streamline distribution, a dedicated control room has been established at the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) office committee room, operational daily from 9am to 5.30pm. Citizens can directly reach out for assistance through the helpline number 9915155072. This centralised control room is actively receiving and resolving LPG-related complaints and requests from residents, labourers, and business entities. It functions as a critical coordination hub, working closely with gas agencies and Oil Marketing Companies to maintain adequate supply levels for domestic consumers. Simultaneously, food supply inspectors are being regularly deployed to monitor agency operations on the ground and ensure that households do not face shortages or disruptions.Deputy commissioner Himanshu Jain informed that the administration has put in place a structured mechanism to oversee LPG allocation for commercial and industrial units, with partial restoration currently being implemented based on availability. Special emphasis is also being laid on supporting the workforce through the rollout of the 2kg and 5kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) scheme, under which migrant workers can obtain new LPG connections by presenting a valid identity document such as an Aadhaar card. To further reinforce accountability and transparency, administrative officials are conducting routine inspections of gas agencies, while sales managers have been directed to maintain sufficient stock levels for domestic users at all times. Non-domestic consumers have been instructed to submit end-use certificates to prevent any misuse or diversion of LPG supplies.Jain also underscored the seriousness of the situation and warned that any instance of non-compliance will invite strict action under the Essential Commodities Act. The entire operation is being closely supervised by a district-level committee led by GLADA additional chief administrator Ojasvi, ensuring that relief measures are implemented effectively and equitably across all sectors. He added that the administration is committed to safeguarding the essential needs of its citizens and urges the public to make use of the control room facility for prompt assistance and support. This proactive approach aims to stabilise the energy landscape for both the local populace and the city’s vital industrial sectors.LPG Helpline LaunchedThe district administration has set up a dedicated control room at the GLADA office committee room to address LPG supply grievances for households, migrants, and industries.
