Hyderabad: Three people died and several others were injured after a lorry rammed into an auto-rickshaw from the rear near Vasram Thanda in Nalgonda district along the Mallepalli–Hyderabad road on Sunday afternoon.The three deceased were identified as Korra Badya, 57, auto driver and a resident of Korraman Singh Thanda in Chintapally Mandal, Santosh Kalifa, 40, a poultry farm worker originally from Bihar, and Bandaru Esaak, 55, a labourer from Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh.According to Nampally SI Linga Reddy, an auto-rickshaw was travelling from Mallepalli towards Chintapalli with 12 passengers on board. When the vehicle reached the stretch of road near Vasram Thanda, a lorry reportedly hit the auto from the rear. The impact of the collision was severe, causing the auto to overturn and leaving several passengers injured at the scene.The injured were shifted for treatment, and some were later referred to Hyderabad for further care. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident and initiated rescue and relief operations.Based on a complaint filed by the son of the deceased Korra Badya, police registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. Further inquiry was underway to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
