Hyderabad: A lorry carrying gravel caught fire near Antharam gate on the Shadnagar–Shabad road on Friday, triggering brief panic among motorists. However, the driver escaped safely, and no injuries were reported, officials said.According to officials, the vehicle was travelling from Shadnagar to Shabad when the engine suddenly caught fire. Acting swiftly, the driver pulled the lorry over to the roadside and got down from the vehicle. “Prima facie, we suspect the fire started due to mechanical heat. However, further investigation is underway,” said an officer from Shadnagar police station. A fire tender from Shadnagar fire station rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control.
