Patna: The National Lok Adalat will be held at the Civil Court in Patna Sadar and subdivision-level courts in Patna City, Danapur, Barh, Masaurhi and Paliganj on Saturday, Sept 12. Compoundable and conciliable cases will be settled through mutual consent and reconciliation between the parties.Cases related to petty offences, Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, matrimonial and family disputes, motor vehicle accident claims, civil matters, labour disputes and bank loan recovery will be taken up at the Lok Adalat.No court fee will be charged for the proceedings. Officials said the forum helps parties resolve disputes quickly while saving time and expenses. Lok Adalat awards cannot be appealed against.A special camp will also be organised near Gate No. 7 of Gandhi Maidan for disposal of traffic challans pending for more than three months. Vehicle owners and challan holders can approach the camp to settle their pending challans as per rules and avail applicable concessions.Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patna, Anamika T, appealed to residents to participate in the National Lok Adalat and avail themselves of free and speedy resolution of eligible cases.
