Lucknow: The LMC on Saturday imposed Rs 2 lakh fines on three private companies hired for sanitation and garbage collection in the city and also suspended two sanitation workers for negligence.The decision was taken on the orders of cabinet minister Suresh Khanna who conducted an inspection of areas under zone 7 along with mayor Sushma Kharkwal. In Indira Nagar ward, a fine of Rs 1 lakh was imposed on Lucknow Swachchta Abhiyan after garbage was found dumped in lanes near Aurobindo Park. Beat in-charge Ram Manoj and sanitation field inspector Rupendra Bhaskar were penalised with salary cuts of three and two days respectively. In Maithilisharan Gupt ward, a Rs 50,000 fine was imposed on Mother Swachhakar Enterprises for poor cleanliness behind Bhoothnath Market. Beat in-charge Dayaram was suspended, while sanitation field inspector Sanchita Mishra was fined with two-day salary cut. In Ismailganj-I ward, beat in-charge Brajesh was suspended over poor sanitation and Lion Security Guard Services was fined Rs 50,000. The minister also directed officials to remove construction material lying on a road in Sector-14. Khanna said negligence in sanitation work would not be tolerated and asked officials to ensure time-bound delivery of civic services. Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar was also present.
