Patna: A seven-member Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) delegation led by state president Surendra Vivek met DGP Vinay Kumar on Wednesday and demanded action over the death threat received by Union minister Chirag Paswan, along with enhanced security for him.According to Vivek, the DGP informed the delegation that the two phone numbers mentioned in the threat letter had been put under surveillance. He added that the state police would address security concerns during Chirag’s visits across Bihar.The delegation, which included MLC Ashraf Ansari and MLA Raju Tiwari, urged the police to quickly identify the person behind the threat and take strict action. Vivek said the DGP assured the party of full cooperation.Chirag had received an anonymous letter at his Delhi office containing a death threat. The letter mentioned two phone numbers and claimed that the Union minister would soon be killed by “hardcore terrorists”.Following the threat, Alok Kumar Singh, additional private secretary in the ministry of food processing industries, wrote to the Union home secretary on Tuesday seeking an immediate and thorough investigation and enhanced security for Chirag.
