Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday urged Bihar’s youth to draw inspiration from the ideals of Lord Krishna and contribute to the state’s development, saying his teachings on justice and courage remain relevant in contemporary times.Addressing the inaugural session of the three-day ‘Krishnotsav’ at Miller School ground, organised to mark Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Choudhary said Lord Krishna’s life offered valuable lessons for both public life and personal conduct.The chief minister said the state govt would continue to work in the interests of the people, particularly the youth. He said while Lord Ram symbolised maryada (righteous conduct), Lord Krishna inspired people to stand up against injustice and confront it with courage and conviction.“Today, there is a need to imbibe Lord Krishna’s ideals and work towards the progress of Bihar and the nation,” Choudhary said.Describing Lord Krishna as both a deity and a guide, he said the message of the Bhagavad Gita and the Mahabharata underscored the importance of standing with justice and opposing wrongdoing. Referring to the Mahabharata, he said Krishna chose not to wield weapons but remained firmly on the side of dharma, guiding Arjun towards his duty.Choudhary said Lord Krishna’s life demonstrated that leadership must be anchored in principles and sound policy.He also congratulated the organisers, particularly Saayan Kunal and his team, for hosting Krishnotsavand said efforts to spread Lord Krishna’s teachings among the masses should continue.Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary and programme coordinator Saayan Kunal, who is also a member of the Bihar State Board of Religious Trusts, welcomed the chief minister with a memento, angvastraand paag. Earlier, Choudhary paid floral tributes to an oil portrait of late Acharya Kishore Kunal.
