Ludhiana: Continuing its anti-encroachment drive on prime municipal properties, the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) on Thursday cleared nearly 2,700 square yards of illegally occupied land in Gian Singh Rarewala Market.The operation targeted several residential plots that had been cut out and unlawfully possessed within the commercial market area. LIT officials stated that reclaiming this valuable property will generate significant financial returns for the Trust once the site is put up for public auction.Warning remaining illegal occupants across the city, LIT chairman Tarsem Singh Bhinder said, “All the illegal occupiers who have occupied the properties of the trust, should immediately vacate the encroachments, otherwise the Trust will act at its own level and action will be taken against such illegal occupiers as per the law.”He added that the campaign against unauthorised encroachments on LIT properties will continue.
