Buxar: Two persons, including a farmer and a youth, were killed in separate lightning strikes amid continuous rainfall in Buxar district on Thursday, confirmed Dumraon SDPO Polast Kumar.In the first incident, 60-year-old farmer Ramkumar Upadhyay, son of late Kedar Upadhyay, was struck by lightning while applying fertiliser to paddy seedlings in his field at Ariyaon village under Krishna Brahm police station area. He died on the spot.In another incident, 21-year-old Golu Kumar, son of Dharmdev Yadav and a resident of Ward No. 10 in Nachap village under Murar police station area, died after being struck by lightning while returning from agricultural fields. He had gone to the fields for work when heavy rain and lightning began.The incidents left the victims’ families devastated and cast a pall of gloom over their villages.
